The NSF agrees with the view expressed in <strong>Goal 8b<\/strong> that states that, by 2030, there should be a situation of full employment, social protection, and decent work for all young people.<\/p>\n<p>Within this context, we believe that the <strong><em>8th Edition of the Novia Salcedo Awards<\/em><\/strong> is an excellent opportunity to take a step forward and become an example regarding the 2030 Agenda and, more specifically, the Goals that are most directly related to young people and their employability, which are:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>SDG 4<\/strong>. Ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning.<\/li>\n<li><strong>SDG 5<\/strong>. Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.<\/li>\n<li><strong>SDG 8<\/strong>. Promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, employment and decent work for all.<\/li>\n<li><strong>SDG 10<\/strong>. Reduce inequality within and among countries.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Finally, we cannot forget that this year is the <strong>70th Anniversary<\/strong> of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.standup4humanrights.org\/en\/declaration.html\">Universal Declaration of Human Rights<\/a>. Articles 23, 25 and 26 of this Declaration, which refer to the right to work, to wages, to protection, and to human dignity, to an adequate standard of living or to education, tell us that the challenges and commitments identified are still valid.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>To achieve these goals effectively, we need a new approach aimed at interdependently eradicating poverty in all its forms, combating inequality among countries, preserving the planet by creating sustainable, inclusive, and sustained economic growth, and developing social inclusion. Consequently, this is the approach and the framework that will guide us during the <strong>8th Edition of the Novia Salcedo Awards<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Many agents are playing active roles in this task of contributing to the sustainability of our planet. <strong>Businesses <\/strong>are one of them, and the NoviaSalcedo Awards would like to acknowledge them and the role they play by creating <strong>2 categories for them<\/strong>: <em>&#8220;Big Business&#8221;,<\/em> and <em>&#8220;Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises&#8221;.<\/em> These Prizes acknowledge businesses that train and integrate young people and that, through their commitment, work, and merits, contribute to improving their employability within the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals mentioned above.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the Novia Salcedo Awards include 4 additional categories: <em>&#8220;Individuals&#8221;; &#8220;Youth&#8221;; &#8220;Public Administrations and\/or Corporations&#8221; and &#8220;Institutions and\/or Organisations&#8221;.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>deadline for submitting applications<\/strong> is <strong>8 June.
